Dear Friends and Family,

We're getting lots of visitors to our blog; so far about twenty-five. Considering on average a blog has only one visitor (How sad! Even your mother doesn't love you if you're the only one reading your blog!) twenty-five is huge. If you click on the Clustrmap you can see that people from all over the globe have checked the block, but every time I mention to Dar that we've had another visitor, she invariably says, "Did they leave a comment?"

I think Blogster makes it hard to respond and comment. You have to have a Google account, or make a Google account, in order to write something, and for a lot of people that's too much work to just say saw your blog keep writing.

To make it easier for you, Dear Reader, to leave a message and let us know you were here, I've simplified the process.

To leave a comment or message:
1) click on the word "comment" below a Post.
2)Type your message in the box. Make sure to sign it so we know who left the message.
3)Scroll down and, in the small horizontal window, type the word or random characters shown in squiggly letters.
4)Under Choose an Identity, choose Google/Blogger and type in damcomment for the username, and damfriend for the password.
5) Then click on the "Publish Your Comment" button and it'll be published.

Think of it as a guestbook. We'd appreciate your input and your messages. I hope this'll make it easier!

New Hearth

Dan the builder sent some pictures of the finished fireplace. It looks great in the photos!


We're driving up on Saturday to check on things. Dan also wrote or called a few days ago wondering whether we'd been up to the cabin because there was a broken window in the kitchen! Oh great! I know these are piddling little things, but really: a broken window on the inside? How the heck can that happen? I want to get up there to make sure nothing else has gone wrong. We're in the middle of a cold snap. It was -21 degrees here this morning. It's supposed to be -32 degrees up in Aitkin tonight. That's Face-freezing weather! I hope we don't have any frozen pipes or other water problems!
